Doolphy – What the Best Project Managers Use

Doolphy is a project and task management system that does things a little differently than the rest. Sure, the web-app helps people plan, review, and manage their business projects just like many other similar applications. But it also offers tools that analyze the financial results of the work that small business owners put into their various tasks and projects—helping companies of all sizes increase their profitability while decreasing the amount of time and effort they’re required to put in.

If you’re looking for an application that can help you plan, organize, and schedule your business tasks, then you’ve already got plenty of well-established systems to choose from. If you’re looking for a web-app that can do all that – plus, help you manage your business costs with detailed financial graphs and profit sheets then Doolphy was created for you. Select a plan that fits your usage needs and invite other members of your work team to sign up, too. With Doolphy, you can share files and documents, bill clients based on the number of hours spent working on a given task, and create extensive financial graphs and data sheets showing the profitability of a given project.

If security is a concern, then Doolphy’s daily data backups and extensive permissions settings should ease those fears. With a wide number of management roles and settings, there’s virtually zero chance of a lower-level staffers accidentally deleting important files or bungling sensitive client-billing information. Overall, Doolphy is an interesting project management application that offers more financial tools than many of its competitors.

Practical Uses:

  • Organize a team of staffers working on a group project
  • Keep detailed lists of the hours each employee has worked
  • Create Gantt charts showing the development and progress of any project
  • Share documents and files in a secure environment

Insider Tips:

  • All account levels include an unlimited number of users
  • Results can be analyzed at any point during an ongoing project
  • Assign beginning and end dates to a project
  • Use the hour logging tools to track the time spent on any assignment

What we liked:

  • Doolphy offers all the best elements of a robust project management system
  • Users have defined roles, making it easy to see who’s in charge of a given project
  • Ability to share files strictly with other users assigned to the same project
  • Gantt, line, and bar graphs are all easy to create with data from Doolphy

What we didn’t like:

  • Getting started with Doolphy is somewhat tricky, since the application doesn’t seem as intuitive or easy to understand as some of its competitors

  1. Hello!

Thanks for writing about Doolphy! We want to be different and so we are working to improve our Reports section and to develop other new features. We are also working to make the first contact with the app easier.

We will keep you informed you about the changes!

    Up With Your Projects!

  2. I like practical usage opportunity of this tool, but don’t like rather ‘strange’ interface. It should be polished and rebuilt by anyone else, not me. In general Doolphy can be also related to flexible task management as Comindware for example.
