Sunrise – Daily Email Digests

In an effort to simplify their lives, more people have started using online calendars and web-based systems to record their schedules and daily work routines. What’s ended up happening as a result, however, is that our lives have gotten even more chaotic. Instead of having one paper calendar to keep track of, the average person now has three, four, or even more online versions. Sunrise is an app that brings everything together, sending people daily email digests that list everything they’ve got scheduled on Google Calendar, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

If you start each morning by checking your email inbox – which most people do – then Sunrise will fit right into your daily routine. Set up your Sunrise email by connecting the web-app to your Google Calendar, LinkedIn, and Facebook accounts. Sunrise will automatically begin pulling information from these sites to use in the daily email digests it sends your way each morning. In addition to listing any events you’ve got scheduled on Google Calendar, Sunrise also emails you a list of your friends’ birthdays, events from Facebook, and the daily weather forecast. If a particular meeting or event involves other people with LinkedIn profiles, then Sunrise will pull information – including current position and company, for example – from those profiles and list it on a private page that you can view.

Thanks to a recent integration with Eventbrite, Sunrise users can now get details about any events they purchased tickets to through Eventbrite added to their daily email digests. Overall, Sunrise is a great tool that can really prevent people from having to click from calendar to calendar to see what they’ve got going on each day.

Practical Uses:

  • See your daily schedule at a glance
  • Find out which of your friends is having a birthday
  • Check out what you’ve got going on from your mobile phone
  • Keep tabs on the people you’re having business meetings with, and make sure you know about any recent job status changes

Insider Tips:

  • Users can link up their Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google Calendar accounts
  • Sunrise recently announced an integration with Eventbrite
  • Daily email digests include weather reports

What we liked:

  • Sunrise is a web-app that can really save people time
  • People can see what their daily schedules look like without turning on their computers
  • Users get a heads up when the people they’re meeting with have recently changed jobs
  • Sunrise’s daily emails are simply designed and easy to read

What we didn’t like:
