ccBetty: Smarter Email Management

ss-ccbetty

Could streamlinining email management really be as simple as copying ccBetty on your messages? It seems so. ccBetty promises to make your email smarter with one simple step – and it really is simple. To get started send an email and copy it to the ccBetty email address. Within seconds you get an invitation to activate your account and all recipients get a link to a mailspace where they can follow the conversation.

Visit the mailspace and you get an at a glance view of the message, the number of recipients, the number of images and the number of links. There are easy tabs to keep track of events, places, audio, video and files. Click on a tab to see what’s there and who sent it. Mail can be sorted by subject, sender or date sent.

This is a great idea for anyone involved in sending emails to multiple recipients, for example when collaborating on a project. ccBetty adds some great functionality to the threaded conversation view already available in some email programs and is definitely worth a try.

Practical Uses:

  • Share photos with a group of friends or family members and encourage conversation
  • Collaborate on a project by having all shared files in a single mailspace
  • Use ccBetty for group email to make it easier to keep track of dialogue between team members

Insider Tips:

  • Use ccBetty to create an online photo album with automatic thumbnails
  • Create a group events calendar by including dates in your emails
  • Play audio and video files from within the mailspace
  • Send attachments from within the mailspace to increase the permitted message size from 20MB to 100MB
  • Download documents from within the mailspace instead of having to search through all your email

What we liked:

  • ccBetty is easy to use and requires no setup
  • The automatic map creation feature is a winner
  • Following email conversations doesn’t get much easier
  • It’s free

What we didn’t like:

  • Nothing; it seems to work perfectly

Alternatives:

  • There’s nothing exactly like ccBetty
