Flowzit – Streamline Document Sharing

ss-flowzit

Flowzit provides a stylish way for you to send files to anyone, anywhere in the world. It’s also a tool to streamline the process of reviewing, providing and downloading documents without the need to use FTP. Flowzit makes it easy to upload photographs, documents and rich media and it’s simple to get started.

One of the best features of Flowzit, besides the wide range of document types that it handles, is the way the documents appear within your email. It’s like creating an instant presentation to showcase your work. Once an email is sent, Flowzit makes it easy for people to reply and comment, allowing you to keep track of all issues relating to a single document.

The hub of Flowzit is the dashboard, which presents activity over the past two weeks. You can also click on tabs to manage your contacts. Flowzit has some interesting features and it is an attractive collaboration tool, which includes one truly distinct feature – the ability to attach entire websites to messages for review and comments.

Practical Uses:

  • Collaborate on a video project with producers around the world
  • Send documents to a colleague to get quick feedback
  • Share photographs through a secure interface
  • Create an email presentation in a few seconds
  • Markup the revisions needed on your new website design

Insider Tips:

  • Use the check boxes in the compose window to indicate when recipients need to perform an urgent action
  • Create users for your company so that they can also send messages
  • Change a person’s category from ‘outside’ to ‘inside’ to allow them to send messges too
  • Consider attaching flash files and entire websites to messages to speed up the review workflow

What we liked:

  • You can work with files up to 2GB in size
  • SSL security means that there’s less need to worry about sharing sensitive documents
  • Flowzit supports an extensive range of file formats
  • The dashboard view makes it easy to track projects

What we didn’t like:

  • You cannot send an email to a user unless you have previously added this user to a category; this seems counter-intuitive
  • While Flowzit goes for an uncluttered interface, it would be useful to be able to see messages older than two weeks

Alternatives:

  1. Hi, thanks for the review! I wanted to clarify a few things.

To be clear, you can send an email to a user without first adding them. That is actually a huge feature of the system. Send a message to a new user, and the system automatically creates credentials and emails them to the user for you.

Additionally, you can view messages older than two weeks by clicking on the link at the bottom of the inbox labeled, “Older messages.”

Again thanks for the review. You have a very useful website here.

Thanks for the clarification, Mike – a key things that’s good to know. Seems as if AppVita should revise their review, no? {hint, hint} 😉
