Innovative Resume – Get Yourself Noticed

ss-innovativeresume

Every day, thousands of people submit their resume to potential employers. Every day, potential employers see thousands of the same old, bland resume, with bullet points and bold headers. Now, there’s a service that will help you change that. Innovative Resume will produce your resume with flair, using one of their pre-designed templates to make you stand out in the crowd. It’s a tough job market out there, and anything that will help get you noticed by an employer is worthwhile.

Innovative Resume is really simple to use. First, create your account. Then, enter your professional information in sections such as Objective, Career Experience, Skills, References and more. Finally, select your template from their multiple choices such as: Law theme, Fashion theme, Medical theme, Office theme, Patriot theme and Whiteboard theme. There are other themes as well, but you can’t see them until you’ve upgraded to a paid plan. You have two options for the duration of time your resume is posted: One year or six months.

Practical Uses:

  • Attract recruiters for your next big job opportunity
  • Stand out from your peers who use basic text-only resumes
  • Create a stylish resume as a safety net in the event your position is eliminated

Insider Tips:

  • Just because your resume is only hosted for six months or one year doesn’t mean you can’t print out multiple copies
  • You can email your resume in either PDF or RTF format
  • Each member can use up to three templates

What we liked:

  • Multiple resumes for each user, as some users may want to apply to jobs in different fields
  • The option of emailing and printing your resume instead of just sending a link
  • Very simple website layout makes resume creation a cinch

What we didn’t like:

  • There are 12 resume themes, but you can only see six to start, and half of the six are rather unprofessional looking
  • Your resume may be “original” and “fresh,” but with only 12 themes employers are sure to see some repeats
  • Unlike some alternatives, you cannot embed rich media like portfolio images and videos
