Toobla – Collect and Share Visual Bookmarks

ss-toobla

Remember that funny online video you found last week? How about the cute photo of your nephew on Flickr, or that joke website that you meant to share with friends at work? Finding fun content on the web is easy—it’s keeping track of it that can be the tricky part.

Toobla is a site that aims to fix that, by becoming the one-stop destination for collecting and sharing your favorite websites and embeddable content on the web. Rather than searching through an endless list of bookmarks, Toobla organizes your favorite sites into visual folders that are easy to browse through, allowing you to see a mini-image of the site, video, or photo before clicking on it. And since folders are entirely customizable, you can create as many, or as few, as you’d like. It’s easy to organize video clips from all of your favorite ‘80s sitcoms in one visual folder, for example, while keeping all the links to your favorite political websites in another. And since Toobla’s site is accessible from anywhere, you’ll be able to get a hold of your content no matter which computer you’re using.

For social networking fans, Toobla allows users to share their visual folders with friends, either through email, Twitter, or by posting individual widgets on blogs and online profiles. Meanwhile, users of sites like Digg can set up their accounts to automatically upload bookmarked content straight into Toobla. Over time, Toobla hopes to become your own personal online library, storing all of your favorite web content in one place that’s searchable, shareable, and browse-able. Toobla is fast, easy, and free to use, which is why it definitely deserves its five-star rating.

Practical Uses:

  • Save memorable photos and videos of family in one place
  • Share your favorite online content with friends or coworkers
  • Easily bookmark websites to check out later
  • Use Toobla’s widget to show others what you are watching and reading

Insider Tips:

  • Import Digg or Delicious bookmarks directly into your Toobla folders
  • Subscribe to your friends’ folders to see what content they’re saving
  • Integrate Toobla into your Facebook profile
  • Check out the Toobla Guide to see the most popular bookmarked content at any particular time

What we liked:

  • Watching videos within the Toobla folder is easy and saves time
  • The ability to easily share videos, photos, and websites with friends
  • Visual bookmarks make finding the right photo or link a snap
  • Tweeting a link directly from the Toobla bookmark is simple

What we didn’t like:

  • Possibly too many bells and whistlers for users who want a more basic bookmarking system

  3. Does your blog have a contact page? I’m having trouble locating it but, I’d like to send you an e-mail.
I’ve got some ideas for your blog you might be interested in hearing. Either way, great blog and I look forward to seeing it expand over time.

  4. I quite like reading through an article that will make people think.
Also, thank you for permitting me to comment!

  5. Aw, this was an extremely good post. Taking a few
minutes and actual effort to make a top notch article…
but what can I say… I hesitate a whole lot and don’t manage to
    get anything done.

  6. I’ve been browsing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all site owners and bloggers made good content
as you did, the web will be much more useful than ever
    before.
