Sprinkle Penny – Real Financial Support for Your Favorite Websites

You get use out of hundreds of websites and applications each month, so why not give a little back? Sprinkle Penny is an application that let’s you do just that, by taking a $5 monthly donation from your credit card and automatically spreading it out equally among all the sites you visit most often. Rather than requiring you to manually click on a site each time you’d like to donate, Sprinkle Penny automates the process by giving out tiny payments to each enabled site you visit without any manual work or clicking needed on your part.

Although most new Sprinkle Penny users start out by pledging to give $5 each month, the amount you give is completely up to you. Once you give Sprinkle Penny your credit card information, the site will automatically bill you once a month for however much you pledge. The application then uses your computer’s cookies to determine which sites you visit, and doles out a percentage of your donation depending on how often you visit the site over a 30 day period. Only sites that have registered with Sprinkle Penny are eligible to receive the funds, and you can see if the sites you get the most use out of have signed up by looking for the orange Sprinkle Penny badge.

If there’s a certain site you’d prefer not to support, simply go to your Sprinkle Penny management page and opt-out of funding that site. At the end of the month, you can see which websites you gave money to by checking out the detailed statistics reports that Sprinkle Penny makes available for each user. For anyone who utilizes content online, using Sprinkle Penny is a great way to give a little back to the sites that you get the most use out of.
