OhLife – Document Your Life

Between family drama, career expectations, and relationship meltdowns, there is no doubt that your life is full of excitement. But will you really remember all the ups and downs of your youth a decade from now? Probably not. Unless you use an application like OhLife, which makes it easy to write down what’s going on in your life each day. Just answer the simple question: “How did your day go?” and OhLife will keep the information locked away until you’re ready to see it again.

If you’re like most people, you probably have a handful of journals sitting around the house with just one or two entries in each. Maybe you were excited about keeping a diary during your teenage years, but quickly lost interest and forgot to keep writing in it after just a few short weeks. That won’t happen with OhLife, because the application actually sends you a reminder email at 8 p.m. each night asking how your day went. Writing in your OhLife diary couldn’t be easier, because you don’t even have to log on to the site to do it. Instead, just reply to OhLife’s daily email with a couple sentences about what’s going on. The entry will be automatically added to your online journal, and you can view past entries in chronological order at any time.

If you’re the type of person who once pasted photos into your diary pages, then OhLife has got you covered there, too. The application lets users attach photos to any email to be included in that day’s entry. Not only that, but it also offers up a bit of nostalgia, by including a randomly generated entry from the past at the bottom of each nightly message. Whether you’re hoping to document your life in full or just keep track of important events to make writing your memoirs easier in the future, OhLife is a cool application that encourages people to follow through with their online journaling goals.

Practical Uses:

  • Keep an online diary
  • Write down what happened to you each day, and refer back to it later
  • Start keeping an food journal
  • Document your love story to share with your future grandchildren some day

Insider Tips:

  • Edit or delete a past entry
  • Attach a photo to any OhLife email to be included with the entry
  • Decide whether or not to continue receiving the daily email reminders
  • Scroll through past entries in chronological order

What we liked:

  • All you need to get started is an email address and a password
  • Daily email reminders ensure you’ll never forgot to write an entry
  • Each reminder includes a past entry
  • Export a copy of all your previous entries at any time
  • OhLife makes it easy to read your previous entries by posting them on one scrolling page

What we didn’t like:

  • The application doesn’t have as many bells and whistles as some other online diaries
