Schoology – A Resource for Teachers

Schoologogy is a web-application that educators can use to manage lesson plans, work with students, and connect with peers. When they can record grades, post assignments, and handle their classroom schedules online, teachers end up spending less time working on administrative tasks and more time offering one-on-one attention to students with extra needs.

If you’re a teacher, you can use Schoologogy to manage both the front end (what students and parents see) and the back end (where you privately record grades and other sensitive records) of your classroom. Sign up for a free account, and enter the names of each course you’re currently teaching. Once you’ve added a course to your account, you can start uploading lessons, quizzes, and even tests. Students can take these quizzes and tests online from within the Schoologogy system, and you can automatically upload their scores into your grade recording system. In addition to adding assignments and tests, you can use Schoologogy to start group discussions and even embed rich media to give students a clearer picture of whatever lesson it is you’re trying to teach.

On the back end of the Schoologogy system, you can record grades and connect with fellow teachers. You can also share content with other educators, and evaluate your students’ progress using Schoologogy’s analytics tools. Although Schoologogy is primarily aimed at teachers, certain schools, school districts, and other educational organizations may also be interested in using the company’s Enterprise edition.
