Accountable is a HIPAA compliance management platform that helps businesses avoid running into legal snafus. Designed for health care providers, health plans, health care clearinghouses, and anyone else who must comply with HIPAA privacy rules, Accountable offers step-by-step instructions to ensure businesses are above board with their legal practices.
Accountable’s platform is divided into four primary categories: Risk Assessment, BAA Management, Policies & Procedures, and Employee Training. Start with running a seven-part risk assessment to pinpoint any particular risks or vulnerabilities within your organization. In addition to identifying the risks, Accountable will tell you what you need to get back on track. For example, based on your assessment, Accountable might determine that your company needs better employee training on matters of HIPAA compliance. If that is the case, click on the Employee Training tab and enter the email addresses of your employees. Accountable will invite your employees to complete their HIPAA training online, and it will keep track of their progress so you don’t have to. Accountable also provides standardized policies that your organization can use to ensure full HIPAA compliance.
Although some people might see Accountable as a one-time-use platform, the company actually offers annual risk assessments that it believes businesses should run each year to determine whether they’ve fallen out of compliance. For individuals and organizations that must maintain HIPAA compliance, Accountable is an excellent solution that automates as much of the process as possible and decreases the need for people to spend large sums of money on attorneys and consultant fees.
